RCDs Newsletter November 08

Holidays Are Coming!

The Weather Report:
Welcome to another RecyclingCDs Newsletter. It’s November already and the festive season is well on it’s way. Can you hear those bells jingling? Have you seen all the pretty lights? We’re very excited as you can tell.

Whatever festival or occasion is celebrated, this chilly time of year is the perfect excuse to cosy up indoors, spend some quality time hand crafting seasonal gifts, looking forward to a wintry feast (or two) and spending heaps of time with our nearest and dearest. Mmmm, mulled wine, anyone?

Festive Preparations:
To help with your festive gift shopping we have a competition coming up with a super dooper top prize. More details will be available on RecyclingCDs shortly. In addition we’ll be posting some useful eco gift tips in the forums and, of course, we have our usual huge selection of ideal recycled gifts available – CDClocks: more love + less waste = perfect present!

News & Winners:
Last month saw another of our Stunning Frog CDClocks being given away at a recycling network event in London. Enterprise PLC, a support services company providing UK infrastructure maintenance – including recycling services, organised the half day for people working in the waste and recycling industry. A tour of the LMB Textile Recycling Facility in Canning Town was followed by a waste themed quiz in which our CDClock featured as one of the prizes.

We’ve not yet heard who the winner was, but congratulations anyway! We hope it was a fun and useful day for all. Incidentally the funky LMB website contains some very useful information about textile recycling and where our unwanted clothes and shoes end up. We will add a link to it in the forums.

New Artists:
Our latest recruit to the prestigious ranks of RecyclingCDs Artists is Sandy Beggs who has contributed a fine set of travel photographs from some popular holiday destinations you may well recognise. Sandy says:
“I enjoy taking photographs to keep as memories of the places I have been to. Creating them as a CDClock face makes it ideal for me to share my travels with friends and family as a different holiday present.”
We agree entirely. The Sandy Beggs’ collection currently includes beautifully shot images of iconic places in France and the States. Until the end of December all the clocks in Sandy’s set will be available for the special price of £5.99. Take a look here.

If you have some memorable holiday photos of your own and picturesque travel shots lying around on a memory card or on-line, don’t be shy. Take a look through them, find the best ones that you think friends, family, even strangers (aka potential friends) may like to share and send them to us to create a holiday memento like no other.

Seasonal Orders:
To make your ethical shopping even easier we are still offering FREE postage on our entire CDClock collection (extra parts and items are not included). We also have a Gift Wrapping Service available which, for a small charge will ensure your gift arrives at it’s destination beautifully presented. To use this service simply click the appropriate ‘Add To Basket’ button in ‘Additional Services’ which can be found under each CDClock image. It’s easy to add a personal message too.

Networks:
As usual, we would love to hear your ideas and opinions about RecyclingCDs and recycling in general. Please contact us via the website and on the forums. We are also on Facebook and MySpace as well as our Blog, so it’s easy to stay up to date with RecyclingCDs. If you’d like to help us spread the recycling word please add one of our banners to your site, blog or social network profile.

Until next time, happy eco shopping,
From Rache & All at RecyclingCDs
